How to Use
- Ensure any existing rust is treated or removed before application, as sealing over rust may allow corrosion to continue beneath the coating. Use a suitable automotive cleaner and a pressure washer if available. Allow the underbody to dry completely before proceeding.
- Protect any areas of the vehicle that you do not want to coat with Holts Underbody Schutz. Use masking tape and plastic sheeting to cover vulnerable components such as exhaust pipes, brake lines, and suspension parts.
- Before use, shake the can of Holts Underbody Schutz vigorously to ensure the contents are well-mixed.
- Hold the can of Holts Underbody Schutz approximately 12 to 18 inches away from the surface to be coated. Apply the product in thin, even coats, moving the can in a sweeping motion to ensure complete coverage. Avoid applying the product too thickly, as this may lead to drips or uneven coating.
- As you spray, overlap each pass by approximately 50% to ensure uniform coverage. Pay special attention to areas prone to rust or damage.
- Allow the first coat of Holts Underbody Schutz to dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This typically takes about 30-60 minutes for a touch-dry finish and up to two hours to completely dry, depending on temperature and humidity levels.
- If necessary, apply additional coats of Holts Underbody Schutz to achieve the desired level of protection. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next one, following the same procedure as before.
- Once the underbody coating is dry, carefully inspect the surface for any missed spots or uneven areas. Touch up as needed to ensure complete coverage and protection.
- After the final coat has dried completely, carefully remove any masking tape and plastic sheeting from the vehicle, taking care not to disturb the freshly applied underbody coating.
