Your Quickshine Detailer FAQs Answered

Are you interested in using Simoniz Quickshine Detailer but want to know where it fits into your car care routine? Here on our FAQs support page, we’ll show you how to get the most from this brilliant car detailing product.

Does Quickshine Detailer work?

Simoniz Quickshine Detailer is an effective way to restore your car’s protection and shine in between full coats of Original Wax. Thanks to its spray-on, buff-off formula, you can achieve that just-waxed look in a fraction of the time of standard wax – perfect for maintaining your car when you’re short on time.

Quickshine Detailer isn’t a replacement for wax, and we’d still recommend applying full wax coats at least twice a year. However, it is excellent for topping up your car’s protection and shine after each wash, enabling you to apply a full coat in a matter of minutes.

If your car is starting to look a little tired and isn’t holding its shine, Quickshine Detailer can get things looking better. Formulated to provide a durable polymeric coating, the spray product leaves no white residue and offers incredible water beading, so you can be sure your car is protected from the elements throughout the year.

Do I need to wash my car with Quickshine Detailer?

Yes, we recommend washing your car before using Quickshine Detailer, especially if it’s heavily soiled. It’s important to remove dirt, salt, and grime first as you risk rubbing particles into the paintwork, which could result in swirl marks and light scratches.

If your car is only lightly soiled, rinsing the paintwork with a pressure washer before drying it with a chamois is sufficient before applying Quickshine Detailer. However, if it’s really dirty, we’d recommend giving it a thorough two-bucket wash with Simoniz 2 in 1 Shampoo & Snow Foam.

Will Quickshine Detailer remove scratches?

No, Quickshine Detailer isn’t designed to remove scratches. It’s used to restore protection and shine, ensuring the paintwork is sealed against water and deposits between full coats of wax.

If you need to remove light scratches and swirl marks from your car’s paintwork, we’d recommend Simoniz Scratch and Swirl Remover. This specially developed polish removes surface scratches and swirl marks, creating a smooth surface for waxing.

After using Scratch and Swirl Remover, it’s important to restore your car’s protective layer. Use Simoniz Original Wax if it’s due a full coat of wax, or Quickshine Detailer if you’ve only removed scratches from a small area.
